Besides, a pH of 7.2 – 8 is considered normal (2) and the sperm should not have agglutination (sticking together in clusters).

What is a normal sperm count to get pregnant?

Anywhere between 40 million to 300 million sperm per ml is considered a normal sperm count for men. Men with lower sperm count can try to improve your sperm count with lifestyle changes or conceive with ICSI.

Can I get pregnant with 40% sperm motility?

Every sperm sample has some percentage of immotile sperm but at atleast 40% sperm motility is recommended if you’re planning a pregnancy.

What is a good sperm morphology percentage for pregnancy?

A normal sperm call has a smooth, oval head and a long tail. Abnormal sperm may have a warped head, double or crooked tail.

Normal morphology in 4% or more of the sperm is considered adequate in the latest guidelines for semen analysis by the World Health Organization (WHO) (3).

What is the best time to do a sperm test?

It is required that you do not ejaculate for 2 to 3 days before the test for optimum results. The abstinence should not be more than 5 days.

Most fertility clinics in Asia and Europe are able to return the results of semen analysis in the same day as you do the test. In some places, the results may take upto a week’s time.
