Donor egg IVF for 43-year-old American
A 43 year old female from Texas, USA, reported with conception problems
The patient of Filipino origin had one previous IVF failure, and other medical history that involved the removal of her left ovary and gall bladder. She did not take any supplements or medications.
She was prepared to use a donor's eggs and had arranged for her much younger sister from the Philippines to provide the eggs. The donor already had a child of her own.
Her husband, who was 55 at the time, had a history of varicocele and also had his gall bladder removed.
The donor and her husband were screened for a number of infectious diseases and then they both underwent counselling to ensure they were fully aware of what they signed up for.
They wanted to do a fresh transfer to save time in Malaysia, so the dates of the patient were synced with the egg donor.
The IVF cycle went smooth and they were able to conceive with the first fresh ET.
Main diagnosis: No viable eggs
Past medical history: One failed IVF Left ovary removal Gall bladder removal
